Homeopathic medicine is one of the godfathers of alternative and natural medicine, and despite its 200 year history of controversy, it continues to maintain an international presence in virtually every country in the world. Its assumption that symptoms are defenses of the body and mind lies at the heart of modern thinking of evolution and physiology, and using medicinal agents that mimic the symptoms of a person's illness is a type of "medical aikido" that works by honoring the "wisdom of the body" and by strengthening a person's immune and defense system. Its use of nanodoses of medicines enables it to be one of the safest types of medicines, though these exceedingly small doses will not have any effect unless the toxicology of the medicinal agent matches the syndrome of symptoms the sick person experiences. Because our symptoms represent our bodymind's defenses, these nanodoses can create a powerful immunological benefit due to the hypersensitivity that happens from the resonance of the medicine and the sick person's "vital force."
In this day and age of viral infectious diseases, homeopathy is unique in its approach to healing infected people. Instead of using antiviral agents, homeopathic medicines have been found to strengthen a person's immune and defense system which then enable the person to defend and heal themselves. Homeopathy actually became popular in Europe and America in the 19th century due to its remarkable results in treating people successfully during the epidemics of cholera, typhoid, yellow fever, scarlet fever, and pneumonia. Three different Popes gave the highest award that a Pope can give to a non-clergy person to homeopathic physicians due to the compelling results they provided during these pandemics.
