This third session in our Democracy Dialogues will profile RepresentUS, an NGO that works to maintain electoral integrity and fight against political bribery, extremism and corruption.

RepresentUs - Brings together conservatives, progressives, and everyone in between to pass powerful state and local laws that fix our broken elections and stop political bribery. Itst strategy is central to dismantling the root causes of inequities in US democracy, and ending political corruption, extremism and gridlock.

The Dialogues are convened and hosted by George Cappannelli, Founder of Age Nation, and John Steiner and Margo King, Networkers

Presenters

  • Joshua Lynn, Co-Founder & CEO, has dedicated his career to building brands that create change for good. A seasoned marketer, communications specialist and creative director, his work has been honored by the Rebrand 100 Awards, the Webby Awards, the American Package Design Awards, and the ADDYs. Josh has launched and managed numerous international brands and developed successful membership campaigns for organizations ranging from credit unions to sustainable communities, mobilizing millions of Americans toward a better future.
  • Megan Caska, Deputy Director of Political Programs and Director of the Campaign Accelerator Program, comes to RepresentUs with almost 10 years of campaign experience ready to help enact change and build better, more representative elections. She got her start in organizing in the labor community and later transitioned to political fundraising, seeing first hand the challenges we face in reform. Prior to joining RepresentUs, Megan served as a Regional Political Director at a national PAC managing paid media strategy in targeted congressional races, directed two winning congressional campaigns, and spent several years in leadership positions on campaigns around the country including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, and Maryland. Megan is a graduate of Smith College and is based in Washington, DC where she spends her free time finding local hiking trails and live music.
  • Bo Harmon, Campaign Advisor, has served as campaign manager for winning US House and Senate campaigns… and a losing Gubernatorial. During the 2008 McCain Presidential campaign, Bo helped direct on the ground primary operations in NH, SC, FL, and AZ and served as voter contact director for the general election. As a consultant, Bo has advised multiple Presidential, House, Senate, and Gubernatorial campaigns on grassroots engagement and communications. He is working to bring other pro-democracy Republicans into our efforts.
  • Jenny Zimmer, National Organizing Director, is an experienced grassroots organizer, campaigner and manager based in Greensboro, North Carolina. She got her start as a student fighting corporate influence at Washington University in St. Louis, and was trained at the GreenCorps Field School for organizing.  She went on to build a national network of organizers taking on the climate crisis with 350.org. In 2020, she turned her energy to the crisis of democracy, and co-founded the pop-up anti-coup project, Choose Democracy. She joined RepresentUs in 2021 as the National Organizing Director, and is ready to roll up her sleeves to organize for a stronger democracy that truly represents all of us.
