HR!Day425 - Archetypal Astrology - The Rosetta Stone of the Psyche
- --- Humanity Rising Day 425 - Thursday March 3, 2022 (GoTo Bottom)
Archetypal Astrology offers a deep insight into the workings of the human psyche that takes into account both the planetary alignments and the archetypes that shape human attitudes and behavior.
Archetypal astrology is poised to play a fundamental role in the emerging world view, a reborn understanding of the cosmos and our place in it, which could be referred to as the holotropic (“moving toward wholeness”) paradigm shift. Richard Tarnas and Stanislav Grof discovered that knowledge of our astrological transits can shed light on the archetypal themes and processes which are likely to emerge in our life experience at a given time. This can be especially helpful when entering sessions of deep self-exploration, such as psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy or Grofian approaches to breathwork. They also found that the prevailing world transits can illuminate major themes that will tend to emerge in the collective psyche, as a whole.
Renn Butler will introduce the groundbreaking research of Grof and Tarnas and show how it can be used to help people choose positive times for healing journeys, as well as understand them afterward. He will explore Grof’s expanded cartography of the psyche—the biographical, perinatal, and transpersonal layers—with special focus on the basic perinatal matrices and Tarnas’ astrological correlations with them. This slideshow is recommended for anyone involved in deep self-exploration, psychotherapy, shamanism, comparative religion, Jungian studies, or mythology.
- Renn Butler studied with Stanislav Grof and Richard Tarnas at the Esalen Institute in California beginning in 1980 and certified as a Grof® Breathwork facilitator in 1989. He offers workshops in British Columbia and archetypal astrology consultations with clients around the world. Renn’s first book, Pathways to Wholeness, about astrology and psychedelic experiences, was published in 2014; followed by The Archetypal Universe in 2018, which focuses on dreams; and The Astrology of Love and Relationships in 2022 about relationships. His six-month online course in Archetypal and Holotropic Astrology has received enthusiastic reviews, with a new class starting this September. Renn has a B.A. in English and Religious Studies and has recently enrolled in the Wisdom Studies doctoral program of Ubiquity University. He worked part time as a health care worker with physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged adults for over thirty years in Victoria, B.C. www.rennbutler.com www.archetypalnews.net
