HR!Day387 - Are you moved to create real change to our climate crisis? Become a human bridge to nature through the Global Paqo School
- --- Humanity Rising Day 387 - Monday January 10, 2022 (GoTo Bottom)
In January of 2021, in response to the pandemic and the general state of the world, Elizabeth Jenkins and 12 Q'ero Paqos from Peru (Inka priests of Nature wisdom) opened the Global Paqo School. According to Don Martin Q'espi Machacca from the Charqapata community of Q'ero Nation, this was not the opening of a new school, rather, this marked "the re-opening of the ancient school of Pachamama" (Mother Earth). Here, each student is taught how to become a living "human bridge to Nature" and as such, a larger percentage of humanity can take on the task of keeping the harmony between humanity and Nature, a duty previously relegated only to indigenous wisdom keepers and their communities. It is rare to find a largely intact indigenous tradition with practices that resound in an unbroken line of ancestral wisdom, willing and able to share their knowledge directly with the modern Global Community.
Elizabeth Jenkins, through her 35 years of commitment to the Q'ero Community and service through Wiraqocha Foundation, has cultivated these trusted relationships with 12 Q'ero elders, 6 men and 6 women of power and knowledge, to make this school possible. And this, in a manner as "cultural appropriation free" as possible. The Q'ero are able to teach students directly, through the help of a trusted Quechua to English translator, himself trained by his grandfather, altomisayoq (high priest) of his Andean village. The Global Paqo School is the answer to those who wish to train in the Ch'uya or "pure" Q'ero tradition that has not been altered or culturally misappropriated by those primarily seeking financial gain through association to the Q'ero, direct descendants of the Inka. During this presentation Elizabeth will describe a little about her personal transformation through the tradition starting in 1988, the school, and how we work with the "collision of the Western and Andean mind" in the translation of worldviews. Elizabeth will offer stories, and some authentic practices from these Masters of Kausay Pacha, the "world of living energies". We will have time for a taste of experiential learning.
