From: MALINI Rajendran (12:47 PM) @stan there was an initiative by the manufacturers association to develop a generic design which would only need replacement of certain small components and not the whole device, Like they brought in the common charging adaptor protocol. but this initiative that didn't have the political will to take it forward. with the concept of built-in obsolescence as part of an economic module, the companies did not see any value in this,
