Adah Parris is a polymath, anti-disciplinary artist, tech futurist and activist who’s work explores the anatomy of transformation and innovation. Her work sits at the intersection of ancient wisdom, living systems and indigenous community practices, digital and emerging technologies all under the philosophical idea and systems framework that she developed called cyborg shamanism.

Adah was recently an Artist-in-Residence on two programmes, The Design Science Studio (Buckminster Fuller Institute) and the Living Collaboratory between the Design Science Studio and the Emergent Media Lab at The University of California Irvine. Most recently, starting in the summer of 2021, Adah has been a “remote artist-in-residence” at the Santa Barbara Center of Art, Science and Technology (SBCAST).

In 2020, Adah was long-listed as one of the Most Influential Women in UK Technology. In 2019, she was recognised as one of TED Talks Global Emerging Innovators. In 2018, she was recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Leaders in Technology.

An enthusiastic curator of people, patterns and stories Adah takes a philosophical and anthropological approach to technology; merging logic and creativity to design immersive storytelling, learning and development environments and ecosystems. Adah has transformed her clients and audiences into critical thinkers, philosophers, immersive storytellers, problem-solvers and innovators. Adah has over 20 years of experience in transforming cultures to nurture decentralised humanity-centred innovation environments.

Some of her previous clients and partnerships have included Google, Unilever, Sainsbury’s, Oath, Ogilvy Labs, The British Council, The EU Council, The Tate Modern, the British Film Institute (BFI), The Union Chapel, Burning Man Camp: Playground, ArabNet Dubai, Innovate Finance, Wayra UK, The Friday Club, and Shambala Festival – to name a few.

Adah describes herself as a futurist, cultural strategist, keynote speaker and artist. Adah is also the Chair of MHFA England (Mental Health First Aid)
