Dounia Mebtoul is founder of A Solidarity Fridge, which is a fridge placed in front of a shop, a restaurant, or an organisation, to which anyone can bring food or serve themselves freely. It’s an act of sharing, creating social ties and fighting against food waste. The association Les Frigos Solidaires (Solidarity Fridges) was created in 2017 by Dounia Mebtoul, young Parisienne restaurateur. Today there are more than 60 fridges across France, helping more than 1000 people per day.
