The Church of England has recently indicated that it will provide £100 million for reparation for its support of and participation in slavey starting with Queen Ann’s Bounty in 1704 right up to the compensation money they took from the British Government when slavery was banned and compensation was paid to the slave owners, not to the slaves.

'''Faithinvest''' is working with just one church that had members involved in the slave trade and they have committed £25 million into a Bristol Churches Africa fund to invest in Africa and especially to do the most risky investing. Faithinvest calculates that simply amongst the historic churches of Bristol there is at least a further £30 million which is lying in deposit accounts and which needs now to be liberated to invest in Africa. So one moderate sized city’s churches are potentially creating a fund at around £55 million. That puts the £100 million in perspective.
