Duane Elgin is a visionary author, speaker, and activist who has spent decades exploring humanity’s potential for conscious evolution. Known for his groundbreaking work on voluntary simplicity, sustainability, and the future of civilization, Elgin is the author of several influential books, including Choosing Earth and Awakening Earth. He draws from a wealth of experience, including serving on the Presidential Commission on Population Growth and the American Future, as well as conducting pioneering futures research at SRI International. His works have inspired global conversations on how we can transition to a more compassionate, just, and sustainable world.
Elgin's career has been marked by a profound commitment to awakening collective consciousness. He co-founded Earth Voice, a nonprofit aiming to unite people around the planet in envisioning a thriving future, and his work has been recognized internationally, earning him the prestigious Goi Peace Award in Japan. A passionate advocate for holistic thinking, Elgin continues to encourage individuals to look at our global challenges from a whole-systems perspective, calling for profound shifts in how we live and relate to one another and the Earth.
