HR!Day373 - The Transition Movement: A Dialogue with Rob Hopkins
- --- Humanity Rising Day 373 - Monday November 29, 2021 (GoTo Bottom)
In the aftermath of COP 26, we are having a series of sessions on what the climate movement should now do.
Today we speak with Rob Hopkins who is an activist and writer on environmental issues, based in Totnes, England.
He is best known as the founder and figurehead of the Transition Movement, which he initiated in 2005. Hopkins has written six books on environmentalism and activism.
At the heart of the Transition Movement are communities, both large and small, who become radically self sufficient and often go completely off the energy grids and out of the global trade system. According to Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org, “There’s no one on earth who's just done more environmental stuff – and inspired more doing – than Rob Hopkins.”
