...
00:04:35 Kevin He/him Canada: Our level of indigenous understanding is the direct result of a curriculum designed at an arms length of the church…the very entity that was conducting a genocide
00:06:09 Kevin He/him Canada: History is written by men
00:07:06 Shannon McArthur: Kevin, that’s changing… thank all the Powers!
00:07:15 Shannon McArthur: Hi, Connie, good to see you!
00:07:32 Shannon McArthur: Cate!!! So good to see you!!
00:08:04 Shannon McArthur: Ginger!!! You’re here! Welcome!
00:08:41 Kevin He/him Canada: Connie, curriculum is not changing; although education in indigenous rights is GROWING, the curriculum is not.
00:09:16 Stanley Pokras: This is the AfterChat for Day 636
00:15:28 Katie Augustine: Corporate governance
00:22:48 Katie Augustine: Here’s a great link for repealing Citizens United… ::https://endcitizensunited.org/::
00:26:33 Carol Sue Engleman on Facebook: Good morning It is raining and loud so I will be a fly on the wall until it stops. I am hoping Henrietta comes in as I want to ask her if she knew Amoneeta Sequoyah. Wow I just looked him up to see how to spell his name and there is a You Tube about him Cherokee Medicine Man ::https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAVEV0jAqHc:: This made me cry for joy because I stayed with him as he was offered a grant to start an herbal medicine school on the Reservation in NC, and he had asked me to help him. I learned a lot. He is the one I mentioned who said “You can’t change the weather but you can move the clouds” and I saw him do it! I went with him to Tennessee to the Indian Council as an honored guest.
00:26:34 Katie Augustine: Milt, can you please add the book and documentary you mentioned in our chat links. Thank you!
00:29:35 Kevin He/him Canada: MILT, are you talking about the EAGLE AND CONDOR?
00:29:39 Cate Roberts: You are all beautiful and brilliant, but i must go today
00:29:51 Shannon McArthur: Love you Cate
00:30:23 Robert Hayes: Stan, thanks for drawing us into this Proliferation of Global Conversations ...
Here's one ongoing conversation that's pulling on me.. Join D Liu, who has been doing the Ecosystem Restoration movement for a few years now - and there's about 75 project locations currently - has been harping on this "World Kitchens" notion for a while. In California near Paradise Fire restorations - there's now a regular gathering of folks who are feeding each other and establishing a regular practice of doing this creative work - of which you've mentioned Stan.
Thanks for bringing up this STUDY GROUP.
Who has some topics, guest list suggestions ?
00:31:07 Hyacinth Oesterlin: gotta go early today . blessings and love
00:31:14 Shannon McArthur: Robert, that’s very interesting to me. I hope we get to talk about it.
00:31:22 Shannon McArthur: Hyacinth, thanks for being here
00:32:21 Katie Augustine: My ministry teacher, Jyoti (Center for Sacred Studies, ::https://centerforsacredstudies.org/:: ) works with the Kogi peoples and through The Fountain / Mother Earth Delegation ::https://motherearthdelegation.com/:: I highly suggest coming to their prayer zooms once a month the 3rd Saturdays.
00:33:01 Katie Augustine: Thank you, Milt!!
00:33:29 Robert Hayes: How about meeting here in the Philly area at the LAVA center where there's the 4th year of the Organic Seeds to the 400 community gardens packing group NOW 3days a week.
THAT SPACE IS AVAILABLE for some regular feasting and meetings... there is excellent WIFI signal there too, btw
