Esalen's Soviet American Exchange Program was at the cutting edge of Soviet American relations. It's Executive Director Jim Hickman pioneered the entire field of citizen diplomacy with the Soviet Union. The Program initiated extraordinary projects with the Soviets, including the first ever satellite link-up sponsored by Steve Wozniak, establishing the Associations of Space Explorers, the first ever association in which astronauts from all over the world came together. The program also coordinated Boris Yeltsin first trip to the United Sates. Esalen launched my professional career.</ins></div></td></tr>
