Ousmane Aly Pame, PhD, is a university professor of literature and former Mayor of the eco-town of Guede Chantier, He designs and coordinates international academic programmes in ecovillages in Senegal. He is a founding member and first President of Global Ecovillage Network/ Africa (REDES) and a regional community leader. With government agencies, local governments, international NGOs and Universities, REDES is now implementing a transborder ecovillage hub in Senegal River Valley, consisting of 100 villages, all located on each side of the border between Senegal and Mauritania.
