      • In Feb. 2005, I was brought in to do a turn around of a financially challenged graduate school that had been operating since 1996. One of my first decisions was to get rid of our campus in Oakland, CA and initiate a policy of "Globe as Classroom," whereby we took our students to different locations all over the world for their studies. We also pioneered what we called "Full Spectrum Transformational Learning," which fused in-person, online, and social networking capacities in our Doctoral and Masters programs. In 2012, we decided to expand and transition from a non profit graduate school into a for profit benefit corporation that would also offer BA and MBA degrees online. This was the genesis of Ubiquity University. What was Wisdom University now operates as the Wisdom School of Graduate Studies inside Ubiquity and continues to provide Doctoral and Masters degrees. In Feb. 2005, I was brought in to do a turn around of a financially challenged graduate school that had been operating since 1996. • With Mikhail Gorbachev as Convening Chairman and a coterie of distinguished Co-Chairs including Jane Goodall, Ted Turner, Elie Wiesel, Desmund Tutu, Vandana Shiva, George Shultz, and James Baker, the Forum convened leaders all over the world. Our mission was to "Transform Conversations that Matter into Actions that make a Difference." We convened leadership conferences in cities as diverse as Moscow, New Delhi, Islamabad, London, Mexico City, San Francisco and New York and challenged all participants to take action on mutually agreed goals. During its operation, the Forum developed numerous strategic initiatives which it spun off as separate operating institutions, most of which continue to operate in the fields of nuclear weapons reduction, environmental activism, women's empowerment, and education in the global south. With Mikhail Gorbachev as Convening Chairman and a coterie of distinguished Co-Chairs including Jane Goodall, Ted Turner, Elie Wiesel, Desmund Tutu, Vandana Shiva, George Shultz, and James Baker, the Forum convened leaders all over the world. • In December 1991, I met Mikhail Gorbachev in his Kremlin office just before he resigned as President. A month later, the Soviet Union had been dissolved and Mr. Gorbachev was President of the Gorbachev Foundation. I met him again in January 1992, and he asked me to establish the Gorbachev Foundation/USA. We located the Foundation in the Presidio in San Francisco with Secretary George Shultz and Senator Alan Cranston in the leadership. Our mission was to support Mr. Gorbachev's work as the first president in Soviet history to leave office alive and in good reputation and who had made such an extraordinary contribution to world peace. In December 1991, I met Mikhail Gorbachev in his Kremlin office just before he resigned as President. • Working with the Esalen Institute was my first job upon completion of my PhD at Cambridge. Esalen's Soviet American Exchange Program was at the cutting edge of Soviet American relations. It's Executive Director Jim Hickman pioneered the entire field of citizen diplomacy with the Soviet Union. The Program initiated extraordinary projects with the Soviets, including the first ever satellite link-up sponsored by Steve Wozniak, establishing the Associations of Space Explorers, the first ever association in which astronauts from all over the world came together. The program also coordinated Boris Yeltsin first trip to the United Sates. Esalen launched my professional career.
