Today's program started with the question "What it means to be human"
A friend and a deep thinker who died used for his email the unusual word "sociality" -- the other side of the human coin is "individuality" --you can't be one without the other. This morning I related that construct to the familiar delineation of human as body and soul, material and spiritual, individual and a being-in-relationshhip, single and communal. We find soul by participating with one another in our heart gardens, not in the pineal gland as Descartes supposed. Consciousness has to do with language and language is essentially communal.
