Following on Rupert Reed’s comments, a note on the idea that we should hope for the best, but plan for the worst: The regenerative communities that survive the coming collapse must incorporate most of the practices that have been described so eloquently in the Global Regeneration Summit. What steps need to be taken to increase the likelihood of their survival and ability to communicate and flourish in the event that the mounting global crises lead to the end of civilization as we know it?

So what can 'ordinary' people do? 1. Check that your bank and/or pension fund does not invest in companies that support the fossil fuel industry. MOVE your money. 2. Avoid buying ANY plastic bottles or containers. (A prog last night on UK television showed sooooo much plastic that is all from Coca Coal and Nestle!!) Shop from refillable sources - all first world solutions but the fact we are on HR means that's us. We CAN make a difference. 3. Consume as little as possible but - do it consciously!! We have to change the way we live.
