Sabinije von Gaffke to Panelists and Attendees (11:24 AM)

As some of you are asking about the plant walls I have in my background and that I mentioned in my introduction. The plant walls are an innovation by the innovation health company: Naava (::https://www.naava.io::) and also lighting, based on natures outdoor lighting, that is developed by world leaders of lighting: Signify (/www.signify.com) and Delos who have developed and launched The WELL Building Standard that is human centric and puts the wellbeing at the center. All 3 companies are working for Science and Future of Healthy Buildings, work offices and spaces. If you’re interested to know more, pls feel free to reach out to me (sabinije@vongaffke.com) :)

The System may have to break and what is needed emerge from the wreckage, Ina…

Crystal Steinberg to Panelists and Attendees (11:40 AM)

Kala to Panelists and Attendees (11:47 AM)

It would be wonderful if there is a universal cities health forum, where all our world cities get together and discuss, share ideas and collaborate. Maybe this is emerging now.

Kristine Sørensen to Panelists and Attendees (11:47 AM)

check out the healthy cities movement for more information

Many cities are linked and committed through the Healthy Cities movement

Lambeth GP  Food Coop

a step  in the right direction...

Cormac Russell to Panelists and Attendees (12:00 PM)

The challenge is to move beyond institutional reform and individual behavior change towards support citizen-led health creation and community alternatives to institutionalization.

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (12:01 PM)

Shannon - there you go...

Marcia Raff to Panelists and Attendees (12:01 PM)

Shannon, I thought the same thing.  Hoped you were watching this

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (12:01 PM)

Unbelievable. Just tuned in and - there is my friend!! I live in Lambeth!!

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

DIANE!!! Really? WOW

We have to talk!!

Cormac Russell to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

Often we come unstuck because we measure the quality of our programs; when we ought to be attending to quality of life as defined by the people living it. The includes their level of interdependence in natural communities with near neighbors as distinct from well intended salaried strangers.

Marcia Raff to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

Diane are you growing food with them?

Crystal Steinberg to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

Very exciting possibility!

Jim Phillips to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

@Diane- that's Fab- Ed is great

Marilyn Hamilton to Panelists and Attendees (12:04 PM)

25 NHS institutions/hospitals along the M5 and none buys local food!! WOW what an opp for Doughnut Economics?!

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:04 PM)

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

I expect Kristine will share her  slides, Julie!

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

Agreed shanno - that last slide on labels was fantastic. I couldn’t get it either.

Crystal Steinberg to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

Have you asked the people what words they would like applied to themselves?

Julie Wolf to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

goodie!

the atom like image - "We always had a voice"! a a response to  the of-heard moto "goive voice to the voiceless, the invisable people.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

Still having to come and go but - yes - we used to discuss loads - was with them a couple of years ago on a regular basis when the gardens in surgeries (and gardening for mental health) idea was growing. Now it's established. Along with Incredible Edible Lambeth and more..... Tonight Friends of the Earth discussing planting orchards xxx

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:09 PM)

They have the same labels, Crystal. That’s part  of the problem, imho

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:10 PM)

I love what you’ve presented Kristine! please share your slides!

Crystal Steinberg to Panelists and Attendees (12:10 PM)

Not always my experience Shannon, often found language when I listened there than trying to find the words myself.

Marilyn Hamilton to Panelists and Attendees (12:10 PM)

Our approach w BC Healthy Communities was to use descriptors from Psycho/spiritual ; Physical/Behavioural; Cultural; Natural/Social Systems - and we found communities can indeed provide their own descriptors

It seems like it’s the Cradle to Grave model needed- health frim birthing, schools and families, planning support for the well-being of each student’s development, to their families growth, social and cultural, economic integrity,,etc.

Kristine Sørensen to Panelists and Attendees (12:11 PM)

Happy to receive your advice

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:12 PM)

well said, Kristine. me too.

Marilyn Hamilton to Panelists and Attendees (12:13 PM)

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:13 PM)

from the ashes, we shall  Rise

Me to All panelists and other attendees (12:13 PM)

In response to the call for nomenclature for defining various populations, I'd suggest looking at the Encyclopedia of world problems and human potential. ::https://othernetworks.org/Encyclopedia_of_World_Problems_and_Human_Potential::

Kristine Sørensen to Panelists and Attendees (12:14 PM)

Happy to share slides

Cormac Russell to Panelists and Attendees (12:18 PM)

We must move beyond seeing each other as strangers, gods and monsters: ::https://www.nurturedevelopment.org/blog/polarisation-blog-2-growing-up-in-between-strangers-gods-and-monsters/:: Achieving that requires civic forums and organizing at the neighborhood level: the neighborhood is a primary unit of health.

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:18 PM)

the banging of  pots and pans that supported the spirits of care workers at the  beginning of the pandemic are no  longer heard - when  they are most needed.

Me to All panelists and other attendees (12:19 PM)

An interesting mutual aid project in the UK is called Helpful Peeps: ::https://othernetworks.org/Helpful_Peeps::

Hilary Van Welter to Panelists and Attendees (12:19 PM)

In reflecting on the issue with labels - one thought is to start with the gifts the various groups bring

Maureen Edwardson to Panelists and Attendees (12:19 PM)

Shannon it has never stopped in my neighbourhood!

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:19 PM)

I’m grateful.. Thank  you Maureen

Hilary Van Welter to Panelists and Attendees (12:20 PM)

Thank you Kristine. I love this topic - in fact how to de-label. I will be in touch.

Kala to Panelists and Attendees (12:20 PM)

Sane thought: What if we transferred the global military budget to the global health and well-being budget program!

Marilyn Hamilton to Panelists and Attendees (12:20 PM)

@Hilary - beautiful suggestion - an appreciative inquiry into gifts - people always respond positively to that :-)

Kristine Sørensen to Panelists and Attendees (12:20 PM)

Thanks, - let us delabel

Cormac Russell to Panelists and Attendees (12:20 PM)

Mutual aid flourishes when members grow beyond sympathy models towards empathy approaches, going beyond seeing others as valuable as distinct from vulnerable - seeing people as needed not just needy.

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:20 PM)
