From: Diane Skidmore : (11:30 AM) Brilliant question. What kind of a species do we want to be? Yes, we can make an enormous difference. Every single one of us. And we'd better!! Join together!!

From: Me : (11:33 AM) My Grandmother's Hands...

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:33 AM) Gosh. Deep cultural healing!! My Grandmother's Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathways to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies (Paperback)Resmaa Menakem And yes - there is an audiobook

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:34 AM) The pictures are beautiful too!

From: Sharon Truax : (11:34 AM) Thank you Richard... It's exciting work. The only way

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:35 AM) Good morning Rako!

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:35 AM) @Shannon Yes xxx

From: Greg Melia : (11:35 AM) Resmaa's site with the course mentioned: https://www.resmaa.com/

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:38 AM) we’re not comfortable with being uncomfortable… it is how Spirit is getting us to make the choices that are necessary.

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (11:38 AM) i LOVE this acceptance of the difficult!!!!

From: Jane : (11:39 AM) Jung believed that repressed trauma or what he called “complexes” affect not only the individual but also the collective culture. He wrote: “…they exist (the archetypes) and function and are born anew with each generation.”

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:39 AM) We need time and connection, if not permission…

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:39 AM) @Kathryn Yes!! Me too xx

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (11:40 AM) It’s the resistance that causes pain - we resist the learning.

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:42 AM) So if we face it and breathe and relax into it, it doesn't have to be painful - it's just hard work!!! (Like giving birth hahaha From: Jude Asphar : (11:43 AM) what is the plant, Reko?

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:43 AM) @Shannon - never had permission.

From: MALINI Rajendran : (11:44 AM) Yes I can never forget the wonder of a seed sprouting and then the touch-me-not plant which would close its leaves when you touched it. Both these still continue to fascinate me even though I now know the science that is making it happen.

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:44 AM) Gosh Rako. Lovely plant story!!

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:44 AM) some never need it! @Diane!

From: Dr. Carroy (Cuf) Ferguson : (11:45 AM) As an African AM)erican (& AHP President) here on this site to humbly share in the experience, I share again 2 articles I wrote in anticipation for times such as these: (2012) “Beyond Self-Limiting & Addictive Cultural Scripts” https://www.academia.edu/7522089/Beyond_Self_Limiting_and_Addictive_Cultural_Scripts_The_Power_of_Preference_in_the_Now and (2015) “Healing Our Race-Linked Wounds” https://www.academia.edu/12551325/Healing_Our_Race_Linked_Wounds

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:45 AM) cyclical. Death and re-birth. Yes!! Wonderful!!

From: Jane : (11:45 AM) @ Malini...loved the experience of that plant.

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:46 AM) @Malini Yes - that plant - fascinates for ever!!

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:46 AM) Thank you, @Cuf

From: Barbro Esbjörnsdotter : (11:47 AM) So important to be with the dead for a while!

From: Rachel Root : (11:48 AM) Butterflies are wonderful exAM)ples of a death and rebirth or transformation

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:49 AM) @Rachel yes indeed

From: Sharon Truax : (11:50 AM) Rako, so simple but profound. Nature is a teacher of life. Curated art exhibitions in the 90's when I realized that I had not looked at death. It was so frightening to most, especially men in their 40's.

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (11:52 AM) @Sharon - love to talk with you about that! Bridge2partnership@gmail.com

From: Jane : (11:53 AM) @Richard yes , Re: Death and our fear around lack of control.

From: Dr. Carroy (Cuf) Ferguson : (11:53 AM) In my research study, presented in my book, A New Perspective on Race and Color, I found that thoughts about “the nature of death” is indeed a trigger thought for much of anti-black dispositions.

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (11:54 AM) @Cuf - interesting, I’d love t hear more - I’ll check out your work.

From: Sharon Truax : (11:54 AM) Our Call to dive deeper. Yes. Music to my ears. Thank you all. It is Freedom.

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:56 AM) so is birth messy

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:56 AM) Life and death go together like day and night or peaches and creAM). Very strange to live in a society that does not face it all. Maybe that's what led to ageing being not respected and loved. As part of life!! Maybe it's just consumerism again that led 'them' to go for 'youth' - even though 'they' would not listen to the voices of youth either. A weird world indeed.

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:56 AM) this is not only a death — it is life in transformation

From: Dr. Carroy (Cuf) Ferguson : (11:57 AM) A summary of my research findings in my book, A New Perspective on Race and Color, can be found at the following link: https://www.academia.edu/34550838/A_New_Perspective_on_Race_and_Color_Research_on_an_Outer_vs_Inner_Orientation_to_Anti_Black_Dispositions_Research_Conclusions_

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (11:57 AM) The darkness requires a huge ability to forgive - myself and others.

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:57 AM) Ahaaaaa @Shannon!!! Yes, that is what it is!! Exactly! A transformation!!!

From: Jane : (11:57 AM) Yes surrender to it. Surrender, lean into and learn through our fear.

From: Kala : (11:57 AM) Yes, and appreciating the potentially infinite ‘other dimensions’ that is the continuum of Being

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:57 AM) “They’ve” been doing that for generations

From: Sharon Truax : (11:58 AM) Ahimsa

From: Paul Coleman : (11:58 AM) What if we have never died? Just one continual existence. Evolving. evolving. evolving.

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:58 AM) Or, in another word arrangement - Death is Life in Transformation!! Lovely!!

From: Jen Forti : (11:59 AM) There’s a wonderful interview between Jeff Krasno and Charles Eisenstein back in Feb. on the Commune Podcast assimilating what we’re going through with the birthing process and Charles explains it so brilliantly. It’s in two parts…https://open.spotify.com/episode/3O6CL4uNjNx0aYJXBypAUp?si=rLjl33kERXWCcNEACj7QKA

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:59 AM) acknowledge the pain and allow it to take you higher. We step up on the shoulders of our ancestors… the children we were are now our ancestors.

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (11:59 AM) Thanks Paul - I think that is definitely one balm for that fear. I has certainly made a difference for me AND allowed me to heal some of the pain I’ve caused.

From: Shannon McArthur : (11:59 AM) thank you, @Jen

From: Diane Skidmore : (11:59 AM) Thanks @Jen xxx

From: Bruce Schuman : (12:00 PM How do we offer a story that everything (everybody) can fit into....

Powerful leading question....

From: Shannon McArthur : (12:00 PM I have one, Bruce. How do I offer it? See you’ll on the After-Chat at 10… gotta go now. No bypassing!

From: Dr. Carroy (Cuf) Ferguson : (12:01 PM @Paul. From: a spiritual perspective, I tend to think of who we are as “an ever emerging Self”

From: Liliane Mavridara : (12:01 PM @Rako, this is the new work we have to learn and practice.

From: Kala : (12:03 PM Paul, that awareness of birth less deathlessness is really the core of all the deep spiritual traditions

From: Diane Skidmore : (12:03 PM Lovely!! The Healing Power of Beauty!!! Yaaaaay!!

From: Bruce Schuman : (12:04 PM Here's something I worked on -- very big and inclusive container -- with many stories.... http://origin.org/ucs/ws/ws.cfm

From: Sharon Truax : (12:05 PM Beauty everywhere, Yes. Healing. Central to my work as well. I support you Richard.

From: Liliane Mavridara : (12:05 PM @Richard, thank you for bringing Beauty in the discussion.

From: MALINI Rajendran : (12:05 PM @Bruce. Why should everybody and everthing fit into one system. we need to accept other systems and things for what they are and honour and respect their unique practices and philosophy The only common thing we all need is -to honour the power of unconditional love where I will be of value without any conditions. Wanting to fit every thing in to a single system is where the concept of conversions of populations come From: . Or reworking structures of society to all be like one. We need to be able to create unity in diversity. Not mine or my way but ours and our way.

From: Jane : (12:05 PM Lovely Richard!

From: David Stoney : (12:05 PM Thank you, Richard, for specifically bringing up the importance of understanding trauma. Our species has gone through at least 6 prolonged periods of trauma in the last million years of evolution. These dark nights occurred when Nature blew her icy breath on the world, creating cold, dry, extinction-threatening glacial phases of the earth’s climate cycling. Surely, our psyches have been affected by that difficult evolutionary past, but it was, I believe, part of the plan of universal creativity (oneness), i.e., it was a necessary part of our journey just like the dark night that is just now beginning. I’ll be posting a paper I recently wrote later today. It suggests a frAM)e/story that anyone with ears to hear and eyes to see can identify with (I think!). It’s titled Stages in the Evolution of Embodied Human Consciousness. Happy to answer questions… David Stoney - sstoney39@gmail.com

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (12:05 PM @Bruce their network the https://www.innerresilience.net/ should be there

From: Kala : (12:06 PM Beauty before me, beauty behind me, beauty above me beauty beneath me, I walk in beauty... Native chant♥️

From: Sharon Truax : (12:06 PM Collective grief. I agree. Healing. gut wrenching.

From: Bruce Schuman : (12:06 PM @Malini -- you and I need a careful detailed conversation on this point.....

From: Jane : (12:07 PM @ David sounds intersting would love to know more.

From: Paul Coleman : (12:07 PM The appreciation of beauty can not only heal ourselves, as in the Japanese art of forest bathing, but can also heal our planet by inspiring with us the wonder of creation to take the necessary steps needed to protect this earth and all of it's natural systems.

From: MALINI Rajendran : (12:08 PM Those of us who have not faced trauma are blessed but those who have face trauma are doubly blessed because of that very unique opportunity to evolve and heal beyond it. an evolving or healing of the soul that can only come From: experience of trauma.

From: Sharon Truax : (12:08 PM Rako This is it...Thank you

From: Bruce Schuman : (12:08 PM This has been a very brilliant and beautiful and "high-vibe" conversation here today -- I so much appreciate the grace and skill here....

From: Kala : (12:08 PM resilience.net

From: Jane : (12:08 PM Well said Malini.

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (12:08 PM https://www.innerresilience.net/

From: David Stoney : (12:09 PM @Jane - email?

From: Diane Skidmore : (12:10 PM @Malini yes - trauma is a gift in itself. There is more going on than meets the eye so - depends on how you look at it!! And looking for beauty (which is everywhere) helps!

From: Sharon Truax : (12:10 PM Clarity comes when ready. I've waiting for 10 years.

From: Kathryn Alexander, MA : (12:10 PM @Sharon LOL

From: Sharon Truax : (12:11 PM Thank you for all of your work. It is so re-affirming, on the right track....

From: Diane Skidmore : (12:17 PM Thank you @All. Love and Beauty xxx (and wisdom From: Diane Sue : (12:17 PM Gratitude to all of the panelists....

From: Mushin Patric Roberts : (12:17 PM Jung’s Western tradition archetypal psychic splits creator v creation created 2,500+years of Patriarchy mistaken observer errors based on political economic power demanding obedience simultaneously negating authentic human freedom. Jung revealed western traditional splitting as archetypes. Jung’s was biased regarding “Indigenous Primordial Wes(i)dom Continuums” that arose over millions of years biology of love ~ legitimacy in coexistence within the entire web of life. Highly recommend “Jung & Sioux Traditions: Visions, DreAM)s, Nature and the Primitive” Vine Deloria Jr. The context creates a new discourse From: the Primitive Perspective alive in the Lakota Oyate and tribes worldwide. From: Jane : (12:24 PM Beauty Sabinije. thank you.

From: Sabinije von Gaffke : (12:24 PM Some of you asked for the quote I just read by Thich Nhat Hanh: Be yourself. Life is precious as it is. All the elements for your happiness are already here. There is no need to run, strive, search, or struggle. Just be. Just being in the moment in this place is the deepest practice of meditation. Most people cannot believe that just walking as though you have nowhere to go is enough. They think that striving and competing are normal and necessary. Try practicing aimlessness for just five minutes, and you will see how happy you are during those five minutes.”
“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child—our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh
