I am a scientist and I love learning.

As an immigrant, science gave me a way out of the traumas and material scarcity I experienced in my intercity surroundings. It made me curious about human beings: our beliefs, perceptions, behaviors, and the ways we organize ourselves. This curiosity led me to study biology, chemistry, human rights, international politics, corporations, religion, mindfulness, yoga, and the law while living and working across the US, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

My gift lies in the ability to help you see and transform your own beliefs and behaviors that limit you from feeling and being connected to people who are different from you. It’s a gift that has allowed me to overcome the limitations of my own upbringing and feel a sense of belonging in my own diverse social identities and surroundings.

I am an educator and I love teaching.

I’ve spent hundreds of hours tutoring young people, which led me to work for Teach for America, teaching middle school, and designing teacher training programs. In my transition from training students to teachers, I discovered my passion for teaching adult learners to dissolve their confusion and openly express vulnerability.

My teaching style invites you to bring curiosity and authenticity so you can learn and apply proven science-backed, compassion-based tools to advance equity and belonging in your life and communities. I practice these tools daily to patiently understand, address, and heal the challenges and traumas associated with my own diverse social identities.

I am a lawyer and I love equity.

With a budding career in human rights, I went to law school to learn the assumptions that undergird our institutions so I could advance equity internationally. My legal education brought me face to face with the dehumanization, greed, and cruelty of our public and private institutions. I discovered solutions to these deeply rooted challenges in contemplative practices and sciences.

My personal journey of transformation led me to lean into my own power and found BE MORE. I went from feeling like a self-doubting, fearful victim of the “system” to a self-assured, empowered educator and advocate who is clear about his vision and contribution.

This work has transformed my life and I am now here to help you transform yours and empower you to advance change. Today, my work with BE MORE supports professionals like you to reconcile our academic and intellectual training with our emotional life so we can use our roles, positions, and power to advance equity and belonging.
