As an international consultant, facilitator, coach, researcher-educator, and

author, Alain has focused his professional work on developing co-leadership and

partnering capabilities in and across the private, public, and civil society sectors.

Now in his eighties and as an elder, he devotes his voluntary work to co-creating

conditions for elders to explore how they can live a regenerative life and

collaborate with younger generations in transforming education. He is passionate

about integrating the inner and outer dimensions of change, both at the individual

and collective levels, to address our current interdependent crises. He believes

that cities and bioregions offer the most promising opportunities for building an

inclusive community of commitment, in service of the whole of life.

A graduate from HEC (Paris), Stanford University MBA, and former senior

consultant at McKinsey & Company, Alain founded Core Leadership

Development in Oakland, California. He has served a wide range of clients, from

start-ups, family businesses, and large international corporations to UN

Agencies, foundations, healthcare organizations, educational systems, global

and local NGOs. He collaborated with the Leadership Learning Community and

the Institute for Evolutionary Leadership in Oakland.

Alain has designed and facilitated board and executive retreats, as well as team

workshops on co-leadership capacity-building in the United States, Europe,

Japan, Brazil, and several African countries. He was a co-founder and active

member of the Society for Organizational Learning (SOL) in Boston, San

Francisco, and Paris. His most recent book was published as a Kindle book on

Amazon.com under the title Actualizing Evolutionary Co-leadership – Evolving a

Creative and Responsible Society.

Alain has taught courses on leadership in several business schools in Europe

and the United States over the last 45 years, and is still a visiting professor for

the Coaching/Personal Development Master’s Program at Paris 2 University. He

is also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Public Service of Portland State

University, an honorary director of Pathways to Peace, and a member of the

Conscious Leadership Guild.

Over the last five years, he has been an active member of the Elders Action

Network, where he has led a visionary planning process and now co-leads the

Regenerative Elder Process – which is offering for the fourth time an in-depth

exploration called Embodying Regenerative Worldviews. He lives in Portland,

Oregon and stays actively connected to friends and colleagues internationally.
